I dont hang around here as much as I used too, but I still find it to be an amazing community and a fun and informative place to be apart of! So thankyou everyone!
I wanted to take a moment to highlight the amazing folks at Ann Arbor Guitars, Hesh and Dave, for their absolutely above and beyond service. I was fortunate enough to attend a fretting and setup class about a year ago at their shop. I will admit I was a tad hesitant about the value I would get from the class, already having set up hundreds of guitars. I can say confidently now that the class was well worth it, the few new tricks and greater understanding that I developed have elevated my fretwork to the next level.
Now its time for the praise.... I have a pretty unique guitar that is just now at the after finish, fretting stage (happy to share pics with you all if that is of any interest) The guitar requires about 1" of extra fretwire that is slightly taller than my normal wire. I failed to remember this and found myself stuck not having the proper EVO gold fretwire. I remember Ann Arbor having a nice stock so I thought it wouldnt hurt to ask if they had the right size.
I was greeted like an old friend by Hesh over the phone, within 2 minutes he was digging through the fretwire stash and found the perfect fit. Without question they offered to send me out a few inches and save the day!
You really dont come across service like that very often, ABOVE AND BEYOND! Just wanted to take a moment to thank Dave and Hesh over the web and let others in on what is one of the golden spots of lutherie!
